Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. El Cajon Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those search entries on its own servers. If you contact us, we receive the contents of your message and use them to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting systems may record ordinary server-log details, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time stamps. Those details are reviewed in aggregate to maintain the service and understand which El Cajon records resources receive attention. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or, where used, advertising measurement.
How the Data Is Used
The purposes are limited to operating the pages, diagnosing faults, measuring traffic, and improving the reference material. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual user profiles are not built from this information.
Links to Other Websites
Pages may link to San Diego County and California records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Once you leave these pages, the destination’s privacy policy controls what you submit there. The sponsored search results are also supplied by a separate provider under its own practices.
Who May Process It
Hosting and technical service providers may process server logs while supporting the pages. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic technical data described above. Disclosure outside those purposes occurs when valid legal process requires it.
Security and Retention
The connection is encrypted, and logs are retained only for as long as the purposes above require. There are no user accounts here, so the service does not hold a password or account profile that could be exposed.
People Under 18
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor may have sent information, contact us so it can be reviewed and deleted.
Your California Privacy Rights
Where the California Consumer Privacy Act applies, Civil Code §§1798.100 et seq. sets out rights to know, delete, and correct personal information, limit use of sensitive personal information, and opt out of sale or sharing. California’s DROP framework, Civil Code §1798.99.80, lets a resident send one deletion or opt-out request to registered data brokers beginning in 2026; the Attorney General reported that the tool reaches more than 500 brokers.
Because this service keeps very little, a request about information held here usually involves checking the contact mailbox and available server logs, then removing what is found when appropriate. Use the Contact page to ask. For information held in El Cajon, San Diego County, or California public records, contact the particular custodian because this reference cannot change those records.
California’s Safe at Home program provides a substitute mailing address for covered survivors and other protected people under Government Code §§6205-6211. Custodian-specific redactions also protect items such as confidential voter data and assessor information that is not posted online. Do not try to defeat a suppression or confidentiality measure.
Policy Changes
